Users not able to place orders in Portal URL using Chrome, Firefox

Hi Experts,

 

Users are unable to submit orders using Firefox and Google Chrome in Dev and QA.

Using Internet Explorer they are able to do so without any issues. We are at NW 7.0 SP16.

 

Also, users are able to submit orders using firefox and chrome in production which has the same configuration as dev and QA.

 

But problem is that we can't ask customers to not use any of the browsers to place orders.

 

Business wants "For now let make sure the net weaver portal works for three major browsers running in Microsoft.

IE (9 to 11) , Firefox , Chrome

 

SAP has suggested the following:

1663313 - SSL not working after applying Microsoft KB 2618444/2585542

Please note this extract from the note which led me to think it may be

the issue here:

 

The note describes problems with new Internet Explorer updates but

similar changes are planned also by some of the other browser vendors

like Mozilla Firefox and others. Similar symptoms and reasoning may be

valid for future browser updates of the other vendors.

 

So the clients may be experiencing the issue regardless of browser.

 

Please read the note again carefully and make sure none of the points

are valid to your scenario.

If you have access to a client machine that operates on a Microsoft OS

you may be able to test this, and whether the responsible security

patches are involved.

 

Also your java engine is currently at a lower sp level than that of

the fix in the note so we can't rule out this being the issue for the

moment.

 

If anyone has seen this issue please let me know. Greatly appreciate your help.
