Dear Experts,
We have recently implemented Federated Portals in our environment and I have a few doubts which I cant seem to clarify even after reading through several documents.
- In my Producer Portal when i login and go to Portal Content -- Project Folder -- Folder Test -- I created some Content (Iview,Page,Worksets etc) under a Folder "Test".
Now when i login to Consumer Portal the SAME content (with all iviews, etc) are visible at the same place under Portal Content - Custom PCD Folder -- Test ... without me doing anything ..
I never made them directly inside the Consumer Portal, what i wanted to do was Remote Delta Link assignment and i should have copied the content from Remote FPN Producers --> Portal Content as a local objects (which will come as "globe" icons)
But why the Producer Content (in Portal Content) is visible in Consumer Portal (Portal Content) automatically ?? Is it normal behavior ??
- Second question is, I have a Role "ABC" in Producer Portal --- Now if i try and do Remote Role Assignment , I will go to Consumer Portal and search for Role ABC with Source as "Fpn Producer Name" and assign it to user.
After doing this i am able to see the Role assigned to me in Consumer Portal, but the same Role i can see assigned to me in Producer Portal as well... I never explicitly added the Role in Producer Portal to my user ..
Please let me know the answers and clear my doubt, or please let me know if you are getting confused with my information. I will try and explain with screenshots..
