Help with Application Integrator iViews

I'm using the generic application integrator iView in order to create a link to a third-party application by using a system alias instead of hard-coding a URL using the URL iView.  The link appears to work fine using the application integrator iView, however the address bar shows a Portal address such as this:

https://hostname.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prteventname/Navigate/prtroot/pcd!3apcdlocationtoportaldesktop!2fframeworkPages!2fframeworkpage!2fcom.sap.portal.innerpage!2fcom.sap.portal.contentarea?NavigationTarget=navurl%3A%2F%2F7a2b29ce6dcaefd513fe45714b0fc752&ExecuteLocally=true&CurrentWindowId=WID1386873660129&NavMode=1

Any ideas why this is happening?  There is some slightly strange behavior happening on the third-party application when users are re-directed using the application integrator iViews as opposed to using the URL iViews.
