EHP1 Installation on Linux

Hi,

I am having problems with installing EHP1 on a Linux server.  I am very confused to the media that I need to get from SWDC.  I downloaded the necessary packages.  What should I do next?  According to the documentation, I need to use SAPCAR to decompress all downloaded packages from the lowest number onwards.  But SAPCAR does not work with ZIP and RAR and RAR.EXE, does it?

I thought, maybe I need to unzip and unrar in order (from the lowest number onwards) and overwrite files.  When I have done this, I can go to the Installation Master folder and call sapinst.  However, sapinst prompts me for Java Components for Netweaver 7.0, which I have no idea where the package is sitting.

Can someone help me with the installation steps here?  What should I do with the downloaded the files from service.sap.com?  Should I decompress ALL files?  What should I use?  Should I create a new folder for each extract or should all files be extracted to the same directory?

Eg.

1. Go to SWDC and download the necessary files after the proper selection has been made.

2. In your download folder, extract ALL files in the same directory.

3. Go to the Installation Master folder and execute sapinst

4. Enter necessary params for the sapinst gui and proceed with install.

The above steps don't seem to be working for me...

Confused.
