com.customer.afp.fromscratch modify ajax fwk l-shape api

Hello.

Following the how-to guide Apply Custom Branding Using the Ajax Framework L-Shape APIs I am having an issue.  Using the provided com.customer.afp.fromscratch, I was able to import into NWDS 7.3.  I have modified the images for the tiles and rebuilt probject with creation   Deployment was successful to portal 7.3.  Testing in portal was successful.

Further modification was attempted in the assignment of the mime image located in the provided fwk.js file.  Any modification to this file is ignored including simple change to "welcome" message.

The only observation that I can make is that the fwk.js code is not being called but this would seem very odd to me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Patrick

Issue with user Creation/Deletion

Hi Experts,

I have scenario where in i am not able to create UME user in SAP Portal.

Below is the scenario:

User 123456 and 123456-a exists in portal. User 123456 is deleted from the Identity Manager and only 123456-a exists.

Search result doesnt give any record for user 123456.

but while trying to create a new user with the same user id 123456, it gives the below message

User with unique name "123456" already exists.: Principal "UACC.PRIVATE_DATASOURCE.un:123456" already exists.

This behaviour is only for this particular user 123456 and not for any other user.

I tried creating multiple such different users but it works fine without any error.

We are using IDM along with this portal.

I would like to know if there is any why i can delete the user permanently or if the unique id assigned to this user can be deleted?

Can we do this through NWA or directly from the database?

Thanks & Regards

Hyperlink not working properly on XML forms builder

$

Hello

I'm trying to put a hard link on the Show form of an XML form project

I have created a label and assigned it with the following attributes:

Caption: Test

Hyperlink: Click Select... and select a file from KM

Style: Link

When I render the form I can see the link on the page but when I press it nothing happens.

When I check the HTML it appears that the XML forms builder generated this link:

<a class="urLnkFunction urTxtStd" tabindex="7495" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="/irj/go/km/docs/documents/Test/Test.pdf">Test</a>

This explains why the link isn't working but I'm not sure why it would build it this way.

Any ideas...?

Thanks

How to connect to NetWeaver running on VM

$

Newbie question. I was asked to look at the possibility to pull (import) /push (export) data from SLD to our System Management aap.

After spending hours several hours searching related info I found that

  1. SLD is the component of NetWeaver and does not  exists on its own as a standalone server. Is it rue of false?
  2. In order to play with SLD one should install, if it does not have, NetWeaver. Is it true?
  3. I spent hours and hours tiring to install NW 7.4 on Windows 7 and failed on post-installation step 28 - while starting Java engine. Maybe it is because my system does not meet prerequisites (NW requires Windows server not workstation) maybe because of something else. Can NW 7.4 be installed and run on Win7 ? (I am not talking about production environment).
  4. So, I ordered Linux VM with NW731 preinstalled. How can I connect to NW from browser or SAP GUI client running on Windows (preferable)?

On VM where NW731 installed I see:

NW371DUAL:/usr/sap # ls

DAA    N7J    N73  ....

NW731DUAL:/usr/sap # ls N7J

J02   SCS03  SYS

I would guess that Instance number is 03 and System ID is SCS. These two fields required on connection tab SAP Logon 730 dialog.

Can't connect. Am I doing something wrong?

What http port should be used if I want to connect from browser?

Thank you in advance.

Enterprise Portal Search to search for Applications/iViews in AJAX fwk page

$

Hello,

We are currently evaluating the capabilities of Enterprise Portal Search for the first time.

We use AJAX framework page and would like to use the Search bar on the Mast Head of the page.

The main requirement that we are trying to implement is as follows :

Requirement : Search for a specific application like 'Open Enrollment' from the Search Bar and navigate to that particular iView launching the application.

The application/iView could be from one or more business package roles that he is assigned to.

Currently this facility is available from inside of SAP UI5 Landing Pages and Chips, but this one is limited to a particular role, like ESS only. Also this is within a particular chip only, and hence we would want to move this functionality to a more central location like that of 'Search on the Mast Head of the Portal framework page.

In essence, the requirement is to provide a simple straight-forward search for enterprise applications and iViews available to the user, so that the user can search and navigate to them alternately.

I have been reading up a lot on the search capabilities within portal and found information related to the following topics :

1. Enterprise Search

2. TREX Search and Classification

3. Embedded Search

4. Custom Search Providers and Data Provider Services.

5. Knowledge Management Search iView

None of the above are satisfying the simple requirement that I have and they seem to be for more complex and deep search scenarios.

I am not sure if I am understanding this correctly.

Can someone point me in the right direction to achieve my requirement?

I wonder if this requirement is even supported by Portal Search or not, or am I missing something completely.

Thank you,

Srikanth

Passing parameters to SAP Transaction iView

$

Hi,

We have a SAP Transaction iView (for ERP transaction SWK3) which works fine in our 7.0 portal using the following Application Parameters value:

P_CATID=BO&P_TYPEID=BUS2089&P_INSTID=<Request.P_INSTID>

At runtime, the parameters set with constant values are passed (i.e. P_CATID and P_TYPEID) successfully from the iView, while the url invoking the iView contains parameter P_INSTID which is dynamic (called from another iView).

For example, this may look as follows:

?P_INSTID=000614330000120800

Since we have upgraded to portal 7.4, the NWA log shows the following error for this process suggesting this is not a valid method of passing parameters any more.

om.sapportals.portal.appintegrator.ApplicationIntegratorException: Unable to process template 'P_CATID=BO&P_TYPEID=BUS2089&P_INSTID=<Request.P_INSTID>', because 'P_INSTID' is an invalid terminal property of context 'Request.'.

Please can you advise how to overcome this error for the dynamic parameter.

Thanks,

Portal 7.3 masthead customization - How to remove Logoff dialog box "Are you sure you want to logoff?"

I have recently upgraded our portal to 7.3 sps10 and we are using the Ajax framework

I have a requirement to Remove the Logoff Dialog box "Are you sure you want to logoff?"

I am able to Import masthead.war into NWDS and get the project ready for development with the appropriate jar and libraries.

I am able to deploy the project also. I need help finding How to turn this dialog box off and just log the user off. I was able to accomplish this in Classic frame work page HeaderiView.jsp.

I have looked at afpmasthead.org.sj and masthead.jsp. I am not a js/jsp developer.

I can see the logoff dialog box being created but I am having trouble finding the logoff code.

Please advise me on the code changes required to remove the  Logoff dialog box "Are you sure you want to logoff?" from the Ajax framework.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Sarah

SAPUI5 iview on Portal

$

Hi,

We have EP 730 and ERP 6 EHP 6 in our landscape which are connected and SSO configured between them. ESS/MSS scenarios are working fine through portal.

Now we have configured SAP Fiori Apps (which are based on SAPUI5 and Netweaver Gateway). We are not using separate system for netweaver gateway. We are using same ECC system for both backend and gatway. So the already configured SSO should work for this Fiori applications as well.

We have a URL for launch page from which all Fiori apps will be accessed. We want to publish this URL on portal. The URL that we are using is:-

https://<hostname_of_ECC>:8443/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/ui2/launchpage/home.html

I need help on couple of things:-

1. Which type of iview should be created for this (for example, URL iview, webservice view etc).

2. What additional configuration will be required to make SSO working for these FIori apps too.

I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks in advance.

Let me know your thoughts.

Customizing HTTP Default Error Pages for SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3

$

0

It really took our significant time to achieve subjected goal. We started with the traditional way of modifying web.xml of portal root application but to no success. It was time for research which took us to following sap help link.

Changing the Look and Feel of the Default Error Pages

But there were open questions like

  1. How to put our custom HTML page design in properties file.
  2. Server location to put new properties file?
  3. Do we need to specify full path to properties file in NWA configuration of just property file name?

With this blog I am putting step by step solution to put your own custom html page design in properties file.

Solution:

As mentioned in sap link we will create our own custom properties file to show our custom look and feel for HTTP error pages. Default errorPageFragments.properties file is available within sap.com~tc~je~httpserver~impl.jar.

Before that

Here is a quick analysis of comparison of the source code of Default 404-Not Found http error page and default properties file as in which line is coming from which key of default properties file.

2.png

With this information, now let’s start putting our custom look and feel in new properties file.

Ø Get sap.com~tc~je~httpserver~impl.jar  file from following server location.

    \usr\sap\<sid>\<instanceid>\j2ee\cluster\bin\services\http\lib\private

Ø Change the extension of jar from .jar to .zip. Unzip the content and  get the default properties file at

   com\sap\engine\services\httpserver\interfaces\

Ø Edit the default properties file .Put your own HTML page design in relevant keys of properties file with the analysis shown in above screen shot. Save the file t with a different name say customErrorPageFragments.properties. With this blog I have attached my custom properties file.

Ø On Server directory\usr\sap\trans\ create a folder say  “Custom” and place your new customErrorPageFragments.properties file there .The complete path now for new properties file is

\usr\sap\trans\Custom\customErrorPageFragments.properties

Ø Replace the existing properties file with a custom one

1.     Open the SAP NetWeaver Administrator.

2.    Choose Configuration Management Infrastructure Java System Properties. Specify the template in the Templates section.

3.    Choose the Services tab in the Details section.

4.    Choose the HTTP Provider service.

5.    Click on Show Advanced Properties at top.

6.    Select the ErrorPageTemplateLocation property in the Extended Details section. Choose Modify.

7.    Specify the location of the file that contains the new user interface. Choose Set and then Save.

3.png

Ø Restart your server

That’s it …You are done. Now your custom look for http error pages will reflect.

Change the Authentication Error Messages Text on Logon Page for SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3

$
0
0

Through this blog putting a small effort to put detail information available at one place to meet subjected goal and reduce your search time.

Use:

Change the SAP standard authentication error messages text on sap portal logon page (including initial password change page) with custom /more generic messages as per client requirement.

E.g. in this blog we will be changing following sap logon page error messages with our custom error messages.

    1. authentication_049=User authentication failed
    2. authentication_026=Password change failed
    3. authentication_025=New password and password confirmation are not identical
    4. authentication_024=Password confirmation missing
    5. authentication_023=New password missing
    6. authentication_022=Password missing
    7. authentication_021=Authentication failed. Password locked
    8. authentication_003=User account locked
    9. authentication_002=User is not currently valid
    10. authentication_000=User authentication failed

Solution

SAP error messages for logon page are stored in LogonMessages.properties file within sap.com~tc~je~security~impl.jar.

Ø Get sap.com~tc~je~security~impl.jar file from following server location.

     \usr\sap\<sid>\<instid>\j2ee\cluster\bin\services\security\lib\private

Ø Take a backup of original jar before making modifications to it.

Ø Change the extension of jar from .jar to .zip. Unzip the content and navigate to

     com\sap\engine\services\security\exceptions\

Ø If you want to change the English text, edit both LogonMessages_EN.properties and LogonMessages.properties file.Change Following key in both properties file as below

    1. authentication_049=It is my custom message for - User authentication failed
    2. authentication_026=It is my custom message for - Password change failed
    3. authentication_025=It is my custom message for - New password and password confirmation are not identical
    4. authentication_024=It is my custom message for - Password confirmation missing
    5. authentication_023=It is my custom message for - New password missing
    6. authentication_022=It is my custom message for - Password missing
    7. authentication_021=It is my custom message for - Authentication failed. Password locked
    8. authentication_003=It is my custom message for - User account locked
    9. authentication_002=It is my custom message for - User is not currently valid
    10. authentication_000=It is my custom message for - User authentication failed

Ø zip the content  back with same name sap.com~tc~je~security~impl and change the extension  to .jar .Make sure not to corrupt the jar.

Approach 1:

Ø Replace the original jar on server with this jar

Ø Restart your server

  Approach 2:

You can package the modified jar into security.sda and deploy the modified security.sda directly through the admin tools. Deployment of sceurity.sda will cause the server to restart.

That’s it …You are done. Now your new changes will reflect.

Note:

This jar is part of security.sda which in turn is part of SERVERCORExx_x.sca. These changes will get overwritten by a patch/update of this sca .You need to repeat above steps to make your custom changes available again in the system.

Below are the screen shots for changes done by me

Scenario 1: User authentication failed

User Authentication failed.png

Scenario 2: Password change failed

Password Change Failed .png

Scenario 3: New password and password confirmation are not identical

Customizing KM Error Pages for SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3

Use

You can modify the standard KM error pages that are displayed when an error occurs, to your company branding needs.

Customizing Steps:

In SAP 7.3 KM error pages are rendered by XSLT. The corresponding XSL is "WDServletExceptionToHtml.xsl”.

Ø Log in to Portal Server through FTP/Telnet access as an administrator. In the physical folders browse and navigate to below path

     \usr\sap\<SysID>\<InstID>\j2ee\cluster\apps\sap.com\com.sap.km.cm.main\servlet_jsp\com.sap.km.cm.main

     \root\WEB-INF\private\lib

Ø Copy/Download the following jar “km.appl.servlet.webdav_core.jar".

Ø Take a backup of original jar before making modifications to it.

Ø Change the extension from .jar to .zip. Unzip the content and navigate to

     \com\sapportals\wcm\protocol\webdav\server

Ø Look and Modify the WDServletExceptionToHtml.xsl file to your company branding needs.

         <xsl:value-of select="HTTP-status" />      - Tag is responsible for Error Code e.g. 404

<xsl:copy-of select="message/node()" /> - Tag is responsible for Error Message

e.g. “The requested resource is not available”.

Ø  At the end of the blog I have provided the WDServletExceptionToHtml.xsl code I have used.

Ø Ø zip the content again with same name km.appl.servlet.webdav_core.

Ø Place the jar at same location on server.

Ø Restart your server

Ø

Bingo!!! Now your new page will be displayed for KM errors

Result: Example for Error Code 404
