SAP D-CODE 2014 - Call for Customer Presentations

It’s that time in the year that the “call for presentations” starts again… this time it is for SAP d-code Las-Vegas (formally called SAP TechEd). I would like to point you all to Tammy Powlas great blog and call you all, ASUG members, to submit your sessions’ proposals about SAP Portal, SAP HANA Cloud Portal, SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, SAP Screen Personas and any other UI related topics. UWL XML - pass Work item container values dynamically

Hi All,

 

I have a requirement where in for a workflow Task , i need to open a SAP SRM Standard WebDynpro ABAP FPM Application with parameters.

 

1)Workflow container is passing the needed parameters to the application

2)I have configured SWFVISU for the needed task, following is the configuration

3)Pressed button "re-register" for my system in Portal in UWL ADMIN, and the UWL XML file is now updated with SWFVISU entries.

 

However when i open the work item from the UWL, the value of item.GUID does not get passed on to parameter sapsrm_boid

I am not able to figure out how to pass Work item's Container value to the UWL?

Is passing value using sapsrm_boid=${item.GUID} correct?

 

Please let me know if you have any idea on what to change in order to pass the value of Work item container value to the UWL via SWFVISU.

Internal 500 Errors - Termination Types...

We are experiencing at times Internal 500 Errors on our portal environments which list specific "Termination Types" an example is the Termination Type "(termination: RABAX_STATE)" or a full all out error of:

 

"500 SAP Internal Server Error     ERROR: Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible. (termination: RABAX_STATE)" 

 

The above mentioned error was solved via implementation of note 2002333 but during research I found a SAP resource page which listed all the different possible termination types in a table and suggested possible fixes....

 

It is that exact website that I am looking to discover again, I can't find it in my history and failed to bookmark it.  Anyone familiar or care to help assist in identification of such a link?   Thanks in advance!

Removing Message in the Home Page of SAP Portal.

There is a downtime message displayed in the Home Page of SAP Portal long back. Now i need to remove that message. Can any one please tell me the procedure on how to remove that message.

As per my knowledge ,it is possible through create new aliases with different URLs in network.

 

But i dont how to create. Please help on this.

Parameter from iview to transaction

Hi SDN,

 

How can I transfer a parameter from iview to a Z transaction ?

 

I've tried using application parameter but I suppose, on this case, the parameter must be a screen field. I don't want to use a screen field. Is there any other way?

Activating SAP* (emergency user) for Portal not working

Dear Gurus,

 

After activating sap* as described SAP Library - Identity Management , when i try to login with sap* which i assigned password is not working.

What could be the problem ? After ume changing i restart sapmmc java instance. Could be problem with SSO settings or ?

Iview Slow

Hi,

 

We have Web Application Designer based Dashboard which runs on Portal in iviews

The performance is slow and we thought of having pre calc server

 

Can we pre calc webtemplate queries and place in portal directly as when user clicks its comes fast

 

Also , is it possible the query (iview) to get refresh in early morning after dataload so when users comes it responds faster?

How to customize standard password componet Secuirty policies

Hi all,

 

is there any way to display dynmanically all the seuirty policies as a single message for a password change in Change password page either by developemnt or configuration.

by default it shows single policy each time of the password submit.

 

As per our analysis, change passsword jsp page doesnot contains any logic, so where the code to be change?

EX: Policy Messages to be displayed

 

New password invalid. Include at least 5 characters

Invalid new password (must contain at least 1 alpha and numeric characters

Password is not long enough (minimum length: 6 characters)

The password must contain at least 1 uppercase characters (A-Z)

The password must contain at least 1 lowercase characters (a-z)

I came from  different portal technologies like Weblogic/Websphere/Oracle Portals. Now I'm into SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal.

 

Learn't SAP BW/BI  in learner's Level not as practitioner's Level.

 

Want your inputs in choosing the best module further , based on earlier technologies with/without SAP BW/BI.

SAP Web Dispatcher beside SAProuter

Hello Gurus,

 

A customer wants to be able to access his SAP apps via web browser. Essentially the same as he can do while using SAPgui.

 

The path is Internet -> SAProuter -> SAProuter -> SAP-App. This connection works fine and is productive.

 

So, is it possible to "translate" the used SAProuter-String in SAPgui into a valid web browser link? http://saprouter:8000;saprouter2:8000;SAPapp?

 

I know that SAP can do this with a specialised brwoser of theirs.. and I also heard that for this I would need the SAP Web Dispatcher. Is this correct? Can SAProuter and Web Dispatcher run on the same server? Do I have to install it on both SAProuters or only on the first one (with public IP)?

We are planing to suggest one of our client to upgrade there portal 7.1 to 7.3. In order to do that, we are planing to stress some of these points. Can any one help me to point documentation or provide valuable points from your previous experience.

 

1. How long SAP going to support portal 7.1 version

2. Portal 7.3 pros and cons

3. Issues from Portal upgrade from 7.1 to 7.3

4. How to integrate SuccessFactors with Portal 7.3

5. To enable Timecard into Mobile (Internet), what we need to take care from portal side? Do we need to implement anything to enable mobile option from server side?

Portal 7.3 masthead customization - How to remove Logoff dialog box "Are you sure you want to logoff?"

 

I have recently upgraded our portal to 7.3 sps10 and we are using the Ajax framework

I have a requirement to Remove the Logoff Dialog box "Are you sure you want to logoff?"

I am able to Import masthead.war into NWDS and get the project ready for development with the appropriate jar and libraries.

I am able to deploy the project also. I need help finding How to turn this dialog box off and just log the user off. I was able to accomplish this in Classic frame work page HeaderiView.jsp.

I have looked at afpmasthead.org.sj and masthead.jsp. I am not a js/jsp developer.

I can see the logoff dialog box being created but I am having trouble finding the logoff code.

 

Please advise me on the code changes required to remove the  Logoff dialog box "Are you sure you want to logoff?" from the Ajax framework.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

 

I am trying to install SP19 in portal. So when i am trying to instal the Web as upgrade i get the next log.

SAP Portal Language Change on Same Page

Hi,

 

We have an issue. We have enabled the custom Arabic Language Link in Masthead.

 

When Users click on Arabic link the Portal language will change to Arabic and it will refresh the entire portal to change the Portal language to Arabic and brings the portal with home page. This is because when the portal refresh it will refresh the portal URL called http://<Host>:<port>/irj/portal.

 

Now the users are asking like when they click the Arabic language link when they are on a particular page or role the portal should change the language to Arabic and it should bring the user to same page or role where he actually clicks.

 

Is it possible in sap portal? is there any way to find a work around or solution for this issue?

WPC - Deleted area still appear in navigation structure and is visible for end users

Hi Experts

 

We have a WPC navigation structure like this

 

 

Area

     Subarea1

          Page

          Page

     Subarea2

          Page

          Page

....

 

We delete the "subarea2" and appears how delted, after that  we republish  the "Area" but is still visible to end users even after an instance restart

We also erase the area from staging area - (Content Management)

Do you have  idea if we need make another step for totally delete the área and the end users dont see it.

I have installed web dispatcher in standalone system.

i am trying to connect my QAS system witch contain APP server.

could you please let me know how to maintain the profile parameter for this.

Language installation in portal

I know languages are not installed in Enterprise Portal but i have a few queries on this subject.

 

I read through note 1013521 and understand that i need to adjust configuration around the service locale_list_service. We use LDAP for portal authentication. Does that change anything or we still follow the note to the tee and then adapt the user settings via personilization/UME settings.  Also where do i obtain information relating to NLS supported language abbreviations. I know which languages I need however couldn't locate the abbreviations from standard documents. Any pointers / thoughts in this regard are much appreciated.

 

Also if any one has implemented multiple languages in portal, can you share if there are any dependencies with other software components that exist in portal(like business packages and others) or other connected portals(other java based systems that integrate with portal).
