Portal 7.40 SPS7 - Backend Sessions not terminated

Dear All,

We have upgraded Portal to 7.4 SPS7 and there is a major issue. When navigating away from a portal iview ( WDA, HTML GUI) the back-end session is not being terminated. They are in a way suspended, so when you come back to the same iview you continue using the existing session from the point you left it. I find it quite a big problem as it completely changes how the portal works.

Before every time you navigated away a log out command was sent to the backend which terminated the session (of course unless you use launchpad navigation with suspend resume).
In as recent as 7.40 SPS6 it was working fine.

Has anybody else experienced the same issue and do you have a solution?

I have a High priority OSS message opened but it is taking awhile to get a response.

Regards,

Haik

Am I doing correctly?

We are using NWDS is EHP1 SP08 PAT0011 and JDK 1.6_0_30.

- change perspective to "WEB Dynpro" Perspective

- right clic on the project imported  / Development Component / Convert Project to Development Component  --> (for location select the proposed  Local development -> MyComponents)

Portal same URL for External / Internal users

Hello Colleagues

I need your inputs concerning the configuration of External / Internal access to a Portal system to keep the same URL so that it’s transparent for end users (internal or external).

The landscape is as follow: Internet Browser -> F5 LB -> Web Dispatcher -> EP NW73

The main issue is that when the EP system is accessed for internal user there is URL redirection to internal URL. So the URL is changed and the requirement is to avoid that.

It is likely due to EP system ‘ProxyMapping’ property that is used as the Portal is connected to several backends. Without it, the Portal doesn't respond with the correct URL.

If this property is removed, Portal iViews do not work properly and if proxymapping ‘override’ is changed to FALSE, we have the problem described in SAP Note 1643446.

Configuration of EP property:

ProxyMappings port=(Host:internal_url,Port:port,Scheme:https,Override:true)

And configuratíon in WebDispatcher:

Internal Scenario: wdisp/system_10 = SID=sid, MSHOST=internal_url, MSPORT=port, SRCSRV=*:port

External Scenario: wdisp/system_4 = SID=sid, MSHOST=external_url, MSPORT=port, SRCSRV=*:port

How can the URL redirection be avoided for Internal users so that the same URL is always kept ?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,

Johann

SF URL link opens in full window in SAP portal 7.4

Hi all,

we want to create a succes factors link as a URL iview in Portal. there is no SSO configured, we just want to access the link in Portal content area.

when we access the iview in Portal, the iview opening on top of portal page, not in Portal content area. This behaviour happening only wiith Success factors url link, is there any way to access the success factors link in Portal content area?

P.S: i checked with Other URL's with out any iview properties chage and they are opening in Portal content area.

- SSO & SAML are not activated so the URL link suggested in this document is not working in our scenario

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/006381ca-cda8-2f10-a2b1-cd351eb04dad?overridelayout=true

NW Portal not working with TLS1.0 enabled in IE and works with 1.1 and 1.2

Hi Experts,

We currently have Portal running on SAP NETWEAVER 7.0. When we have TLS 1.0 enabled IE doesn't load the secure webpage. If we have TLS1.0 disabled and TLS 1.1 and 1.2 enabled the page comes up.

The business wants to be able to open the webpage with TLS 1.0 enabled as other websites need that.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Asad

Pass Portal Login User Details to Web Dynpro application

HI Experts,

I am new to portal and am having trouble passing parameters to the Web Dynpro Application from the portal

Scenario : I have added a new link in ESS. This link points to a web Dynpro Application that works fine. I am adding this link via LPD_CUST transaction using a custom launchpad that was already being used. But in the web dynpro appliucation, I need to to display the details of the logged in user. So I need to pass the Login User value from Portal to my application. I can assign this in LPD_CUST against Application Parameter, But I do not find any Source fields when I try in the mapping F4. To assign manually, I don not know the parameter that Would give me the User details.

Please can you guide me.

Authenticating against UME from .NET application

I am trying to find a way to authenticate credentials entered in a .NET application to our existing UME database in EP.

- user enters username and password into ASP.NET web application

- username and password are authenticated against UME to confirm credentials are valid/invalid

Is this possible? If so, what is the best approach?

Thank you.

How to turn off an existing Guided Procedure

I apologize for asking this question, but I am a newbie with regards to portal/Guided Procedures.

We currently have some Guided Procedures setup for “Benefits
Open Enrollment”.  I was not involved when this implementation occurred, I am not sure how the Guided
Procedures “Benefits Open Enrollment” is invoked and supersedes the standard “Enroll
in Benefits” that SAP delivers.

The Benefits Open Enrollment guided procedures have a series of steps(actions) that also includes
the step to “Enroll in Benefits” which I assume is the service EMPLOYEE_GENERICENROLLMENT_SERVICE05.

So I have a 2-part question. We are considering ending the Guided Procedures and just using the
standard SAP Open Enrollment iview.

  1. How do I turn off the Guided Procedures from being invoked or used for Open Enrollment
  2. How do I activate the Standard Open Enrollment that SAP delivers?

It appears that table V_T7XSSSERRES is setup already with EMPLOYEE_GENERICENROLLMENT_SERVICE05, so I assume if I could turn off the Guided Procedures, that the standard Enroll in Benefits service would show up in the portal.

Thanks for your help.

How to enable disable result status of callable object in Guided Procedures

hi,

In one of my guided procedure, I am using ABAP Webdynpro as callable object with result status COMPLETE. In run time the complete button is always enabled, I need this to be enabled only once the user fill in the ABAP webdynpro form and click "Submit" on the form. Is there way that I can control the callable object Result status to Enable/disable based on the action performed by user in Process steps.

The issues with Complete button always enabled during run time is, User is able to finish the step without even touching the ABAP Webdynpro form which has some mandatory fields.

Thanks

Abhiram.
