I want to create a message (pop-up) in EP Portal that will congratulate you on behalf of the company.
Any ideas on how I would have to go about to achieve this?

Is it required to have a connection for a user in sap back-end to work the ESS & MSS portal perfectly. Because if the user is not in sap ECC am getting "No switch to HTTPS occurred, so it is not secure to send a password" error like this, and if the user is there in ecc, this error will not appear. please advice.

I have a requirement to access the ess portal via internet. What are the mandatory steps to follow to expose ess portal to internet from ECC and Portal level..
This portal configuration is ECC 6.0 EHP7 HR Renewal 1.0 feature pack 04.

Hi,
we have configured the FIORI framework page in our portal (NW 7.4 SP07).
We get an error, when we try to create a group in the launchpad. In console the following errors come up (DashboardManager.js):

Hi,
in our Portal (NW 7.4 SP07) the KM menu buttons and context menus in KM navigation iViews don't work when using firefox 33 (with IE and Chrome it works). In console we get the following error:
TypeError: rows is not a function sapUrMapi_ie6.js:12272
ReferenceError: event is not defined sapUrMapi_ie6.js:833
Is "sapUrMapi_ie6.js" the right js-File here for Firefox?
Any suggestions?

Currently our portal is connected to one LDAP server using the following configuration:
1. Under System Administration -> System Configuration -> UME Configuration -> LDAP Server tab we have defined the list of of the DCs we have in our cluster with host, port, service user etc.
2. In the datasource file we have configured the attributes we want to pull from LDAP.
All works fine.
Now we want to add another cluster of different LDAP to the configuration and my questions are:
1. Where should the connection data be maintained? If I read this post correctly the details need to move inside the datasource file Configure LDAP and EP - Wiki - SCN Wiki is this correct? Does this mean we don't maintain anything under the LDAP Server tab anymore?
2. Has anyone got a working example of such datasource file?

I'm working with Web Page Composer and most recently with Dynamic Lists that i used for some kind of a newsfeed.
Obviously I can choose how much objects should be displayed.
I'm wondering if and how it's possible to include a pagination tool when more objects are available than the number chosen for max. displayed Objects?
Im thankful for any ideas or solutions regarding this.

I am using Dynamic List to display Arcticles in other pages.
How to use dynamic list to display only the published content?
I tried the below scenario,
When I Provide the Design time path or Global Shared Content Path in the Target Folder Property of Dynamic List, it pulls out the articles, even before the page has been published.
I also tried to provide the Runtime path in the Target Folder Property of the Dynamic List, but it states that as incorrect target folder.
Please let me know,how to use the Dynamic List pointing to Runtime as we need to display the Published Content.
Any help on this would help us to decide on the Dynamic List Usage.

How to bring action buttons like Display Form, Assign to me, Forward buttons in uwl for e-travel, after upgrade from 7.0.2 to 7.4 it is not coming.
but i checked the task number xml ,it is triggering correctly for both the work items.
Along with the standard action button and one custom button also not appearing.
Please provide your valuable input.

I create a ABAP WebDynpro iView in the Portal.
When I do preview, I am getting an error that iView can't be find.
When I look at the link from Portal, there is a addition of SAP on the link. for example
http://xcorp.com/SAP/test_view
where as if I run directly from ECC, The link is
and it works fine.
how I will avoid the name space being added to the original link of WebDynpro..?

We have requirement to develop custom SAP Fiori application and integrate with SAP Portal as iView.
Our current version of SAP Netweaver Portal Version Portal 7.3 , SP 10 and in this I could not find SAP UI5 iView template.
Please provide the details on add-on/ Patch or steps to get SAP UI5 iView template on Portal 7.3 , SP 10.

After that when i search the same file under cont admin----> portal content---> portal applications. Its not there
My question is how i can see the preview like changes done by us, before setting as to portal logon page

I want to change the language of the logon page of our portal (EP 7.3) to be in the browser's language. Unfortunately I don't know how to change this. I guess it should be done by modifying the prtDefault.properties but I can't find it (no longer available in EP 7.3 I guess?).
Can anyone tell me how to make the language of the logon page dependent on the browser's language? In <server>:<port>/nwa/auth I can't find a setting for this...

Is UWL_SERVICE needed to leverage full UWL functionality?
As of now, all RFC destinations (that correspond to UWL Connectors; <system alias>$<uwl connector type>) are configured to authenticate with a technical user other than UWL_SERVICE--let's call it SAP_UWL. SAP_UWL exists in all backend systems. I've read that this is fine so long as the Portal service user, UWL_SERVICE, is mapped to backend account SAP_UWL, and that SAP_UWL has role SAP_BC_UWL_SERVICE.
Is this the case? When looking at function module source code in the backend, there are checks for account UWL_SERVICE...
