Users are not able to submit orders using Firefox and Chrome in the Dev and QA environment. Internet Explorer is OK. When they try to submit the order it says"Waiting for nwxxx.xxx.com" and then times out.
Also, users are able to get through Firefox and Chrome on the Prod box.
I have looked at note 1666862 but there is no option for :
Configuration". Select "Service Configuration" in DTN. Open "Applications" and navigate to "com.sap.portal.useragent" this doesn't exist .
How do I give users access to use firefox and chrome?
I created an abstract portal component application, that uses an external jar file from apache common collections(commons-collections4-4.0.jar).I had referenced this in NWDS in java build path.project was build successfully However, when I run it, it gives the below exception
we have created a custom logon page in SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.0(.PAR) and here we used JSPDynPage concept. Now we are try to customizing SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.4 (.WAR) imported in nwds and try to creating the JSPDynPage it is not supporting.May be this is a web application that way.But i need this concept. One more thing portal Application having portalapp.xml in this file we maintain the information and accessing.web application having web.xml file.
My logon page fully customized in 7.0.Now same one we need in 7.4 and one more doubt for me i am using par migration tool and after that i got EAR file. This file name can i Modify 7.0 authschemes.xml same process i can follow the 7.4 or not.
Please anyone made any experiences with this migration?
after we switched from NW Portal 7.0 to NW Portal 7.3 i cannot get any details why the JSPParseException happened. I get in the log only this information:
Parser [PRT] - JspParseException is thrown while parsing JSP file </usr/sap/C73/J10/j2ee/cluster/apps/hlp.de/com.fresenius.fnc.layout/servlet_jsp/com.fresenius.fnc.layout/root/WEB-INF/jsp/framework.jsp> :
com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.jspparser_api.exception.JspParseException: [Error in executing the compilation process: [ Compilation Failed! Exit Code=1
Command line executed: /usr/sap/C73/J10/exe/sapjvm_6/bin//javac @/usr/sap/C73/J10/j2ee/cluster/server0/compilerTempDir/compiler_Aug_5_at_10.4
In the 7.0 Portal i had JSPParseExceptions like this :
#1#com.sapportals.portal.prt.servlets_jsp.server.jsp.ParseException: Error in parsing taglib 'customtag' tag in web.xml or .tld file of the taglib library.
at ....
Is there a parameter to be set to get this information ? The different log views do not differ....

SAP TechEd News and Impressions
What is the role of Portals today, in which directions is SAP Portal transforming and which Portal deployment option is the right one in the days of cloud and SAP Fiori? These are question we discussed at SAP TechEd Las Vegas with many customers. For external facing scenarios, we see more and more customers now starting to adopt our solution HANA Cloud Portal to create their business sites. With many customers at SAP TechEd we discussed the question how the concepts of SAP Fiori launchpad and SAP Portal fit together. With the introduction of Fiori launchpad on the HANA Cloud Platform, you will also see Fiori launchpad and Fiori experience included into HANA Cloud Portal. We are in the process of transforming and reinventing portal - on the cloud and based on the SAP Fiori UX paradigm. If you are at SAP TechEd Berlin, join us and we continue the discussion. Check out our SAP TechEd information site built with our solution HANA Cloud Portal.
See here Aviad Rivlin in his packed networking session on SAP Fiori launchpad at SAP TechEd Las Vegas:
Get an overview on the latest release of SAP NetWeaver 7.4 Support Package Stack 08 (and the corresponding release NW 7.31 SP13) and the new features in SAP Fiori launchpad running in SAP Enterprise Portal.
Starting with SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SPS8 you can also run Fiori wave 2+ transactional applications in SAP Enterprise Portal. Watch this product demo showing how this integration is configured:
The integration between the SAP Enterprise Portal and the Fiori apps is getting more and more important for many customers. This new white paper will guide you through the common architectures for consuming the Fiori apps via the SAP Portal, and running the SAP Portal (with the Fiori apps) on mobile devices, outside of the corporate network. Read also the blog SAP Portal and SAP Fiori - Common Architecture by Aviad Rivlin.

SAP HANA Cloud Portal
At SAP TechEd Las Vegas we announced the availability of the SAP Fiori launchpad running on SAP HANA Cloud Platform as part of the HANA Cloud Portal offering as a full SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) solution. Fiori launchpad on HANA Cloud Platform can run in a hybrid architecture, where the user interface is running on the cloud and the business data is consumed from the on-premise systems in a secured way. Or it can run in a full cloud architecture, where both the user interface and the data, resides in the cloud.
About two years ago Danone’s IT department was requested to develop a Web CRM system (B2E scenario) to be used by customer service operators working at Danone’s call centers located in South Africa. They started with building a monolithic application, based on SAP UI5, but this solution did not fit all the requirements. After reviewing some products available on the market, Danone chose SAP HANA Cloud Portal because of its flexibility and easy branding and customization, easy integration with SAP and non-SAP sources, out-of-the-box widgets, mobile consumption and social experience. The original monolithic application was broken down into smaller components that were reassembled into a portal website. You can find more information in this blog Marco Paciucci. At SAP TechEd && d-code in Berlin, November 11-13 2014, Danone will be hosting a session dedicated to this topic.
Developers may wonder, in which case they should use SAP HANA Cloud Portal or when a single “monolithic” application would be sufficient? This white paper aims at giving the developers the guidelines on when they should use Cloud Portal and what is the value proposition it offers to application developers.
SAP Enterprise Portal News
Applying corporate design guidelines to your SAP Enterprise Portal is about to become much easier. You should get familiar with using the UI Theme Designer tool in SAP Enterprise Portal, which is a browser-based tool that enables easy theme building by modifying one of the theme templates provided by SAP. For more information read this blog by Orit Harel - that also contains 3 great product demos (activating the theme designer, migrating thems with the theme designer, examples of theming capabilities).
In this blog post by Tal Haviv, you can find sample code on how to read/save cookies in portal component java code or using javascript.
The newer versions of IE with standards mode can cause many rendering issues, which affect EP rendering. Read this great blog by Maya Amit who analyzed different scenarios and describes how to solve the issues.
Partner Test Events
You can still register for our SAP HANA Cloud Portal partner tests in Palo Alto and Walldorf this year. These complementary 3-day hands-on partner events are aimed at partners who are looking to exploit opportunities in the marketplace by getting direct access to SAP HANA Cloud Portal and its integration with leading SAP cloud solutions such as SuccessFactors extension platform and SAP Cloud for Customer. Read more in this blog in which you also find the information how to register for the event.
Blogs of the Community
We recommend reading the following blogs written by members of the Portal and HANA Cloud Portal communities on SCN:
I have created a transaction iView in sap portal and when the user click on a link from the WebDynpro app , I am launching the transaction iView in New SAP Portal header less window. every thing works as I need, but in the back ground there will be another portal session is opening. Users are getting confused why whenever I open transaction iView , there is another blank portal window opening in the back ground.
I tried different iVIews options but none of them work. We are SAP NW 7.31 SP04. We are using the AJAX Based framework page.
I configured correctly the SSO, all Connection tests work well but when i user some tab of ESS and MSS ask for use and password, why my SSO dont work for that tab? On my system alias (WAS Configuration) i put " /sap/bc/webdynpro/". I have to do something in the SICF transaction?
I have a question, i want to implement ESS and MSS on my new portal 7.3 EHP1 with backend ERP 6.0 EHP 6, i think on my backend system everthing is done and on my portal will implement with SUM the next BP
BP MSS ADDON 1.0
BP ERP ESSWDA 1.50
BP ERP05 ESS 1.41
BP ERP05 MSS 1.51
BP ERP05 COMMON PARTS 1.61
I just need the above BP or i have to deploy this packages too:
1. SAP ESS 633
2. SAP MSS 630
3. SAP PGUI GP 633
what BP exactly i have to deploy and in what order?
My application is built with sapui5(front-end) and oData services using oData4j framework . This was compatible with SP5 (patch level 33) for all the browser ( including ie11, firefox and chrome).
After the update to SP 12 patch level 6 of the UI component . It works fine with firefox and chrome whereas in ie11 it is getting rendered but my service calls are not getting modified that means the browser is using the local cache(http 304 ) for the read operations whereas the post operations are working successfully.
I have one HTML5 page which consumes SAP Odata(SMP 3 Integration Gateway). This HTML5 page I have uploaded to KM content and its URL I am calling in URL iView. This works fine in Chrome Browser but in IE11 it opens in document mode 5(Default). I have seen that it works when in F12 Developer mode we set the document mode to 10 or edge. My problem will solve if page starts in IE=EmulateIE10 or IE=edge without developer mode.
I have read many documents about this Issue.
Placed <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge"> in HTML5. But still page opens in document mode 5.
I have tried with URL iView property 'Launch in New Window - Display in separate headerless portal window (standard mode)' but still page opens in document mode 7.
In URL iView, Browser Document Mode Property is missing otherwise i could have tried that also.
Please guide me such that only the URL iView will start working in document mode edge without disturbing the existing portal configuration as other features are rendered perfectly in IE11.
