Access client network from iPad

Hi,

 

I want to access my client's SAP Portal thru iPad. The whole situation is like this -

Currently, we do access all client applications (i.e client network) from our desktop through Cisco VPN. So, we do connect to client network first using Cisco VPN (importing .PCF file into VPN & connecting using credentials) and then once VPN is connected (means desktop is connected to client network) we do open all client portal links or any other stuff.

 

I need to access same portal over iPad. In iPad, I didn't find any option to install Cisco VPN.

So, can you please suggest me how can I connect to my client network so that I can access Portal URL's from iPad.

 

Help needed.

Translations in SAP Netweaver

To translate Objects from german to english in the SAP Portal i used the way to go and create a worklist in Content Administration -> Portal Content Translation and then translated it. After that I released the translations and published them. When logged in with a english user it didn't translate the Objects. What could have gone wrong? I Followed the Instructions of the SAP Website (Translation Worklist Coordination - Portal - SAP Library) Step by step. Thank you for your help in advance!

Sap Portal Change language on application level

Hi,

 

We are still using SAP Portal 7.02 in our company.
As homepage of our SAP Portal intranet, we have created an anonymous user for all our users.

 

The default anonymous user has 'dutch' as his standard language in the user management.

On the portal side the user can chose between 'Dutch' and 'French'...by changing the language, all the content is changed to the language French but the applications are still in Dutch.

 

The applications are foreseen in Dutch and French so the French version is available and used for logged in french users.

 

Any idea how to solve this issue that when the user change the language to French, the applications are also translated?

Unclickable WorkItems in UWL

Hi experts,

 

I would like to ask for your help regarding my issue with UWLs.

 

Basically I have two testing environments.

On my first QA Portal, WorkItems inside my UWL can be seen and opened;

unlike on my second QA Portal where newly generated WorkItems do not appear in the UWL and already existing WIs in that UWL are unclickable.

 

I have already checked for their configurations and confirm that both are connected to the same backend and both xml files for the UWLs are also uploaded.

 

Please advise on what else I need to check.

Warning message not showing in ESS

Hello,

 

When an employee enters a leave for a non working day the backend system has been configured to issue a warning message. This message is not appearing in ESS.

 

We have not done any configuration to suspend or change messages in either tables or exits. Other warnings are appearing.

 

Can anyone assist me?

I wanted to install Enterprise portal on HA, its a production portal.

We did installed DEV and QA portal long back and now we had upgraded both till SP12 patch.

 

Is it possible that we can directly copy SP12 patch level from SAP marketplace ??

If yes, please let me know how?

Fiori Framework Page – The New Recommended Portal Framework Page for Mobile Consumption

For many customers, the consumption of the SAP Enterprise Portal on mobile devices is a major enhancement for their existing SAP Enterprise Portal implementation and, in some cases, a key component in the corporate mobile strategy.

 

Since the release of SAP Fiori and the introduction of the Fiori launchpad with a clear strategic direction to (1) apply the Fiori launchpad on multiple platform (ABAP, SAP Enterprise Portal and Cloud) (2) align the User Experience of the different clients (Portal, NWBC) with the Fiori User Experience - the new Fiori framework page is the recommended framework page for consuming the SAP Portal on mobile devices in a launcher/launchpad scenario.

 

Additional enhancements and new functionalities will be delivered as part of the new Fiori framework page.

While designing and developing the new Fiori framework page (a.k.a FLP@EP) we put special attention to minimizing the transition effort between the previous mobile framework pages and the new Fiori framework page (by using the same configurations and settings), while providing more capabilities with the new one, such as:

 

  • Rich end user experience for desktop and mobile consumption
  • Responsive design running on both desktop and mobile devices with an aligned User Experience across devices, following the SAP Fiori design
  • Extended PAM support
  • Theme customization with the UI theme designer
  • Developed on top of SAPUI5 libraries

 

Recommendation:

EXISTING CUSTOMERS

 

Customer running the existing mobile framework pages (i.e. Personalized Launcher and smartphone/tablet framework pages) are advised to evaluate and plan to implement the new Fiori framework page for mobile (and optionally desktop) consumption.

 

NEW CUSTOMERS

 

Customer who are now starting a project to consume the SAP Portal on mobile devices are advised to use the new Fiori framework page.

 

Finally, the renewal of the portal with the Fiori design is not complete without the integration of the Fiori applications in the portal, and this is also already available for a subset of the Fiori apps. For the veteran portal experts, you can think about the Fiori apps as the new multichannel business content for the portal, across devices.

I would like to enable notification on a distribution mailing list when any KM documents is modified or added.

Custom theme in EP 7.3

Hi all,

I have migrated custom theme from EP7.0 to EP7.3 .

I have changed some properties for Popup Dialog

I have midified for following proeprties.

 

Background Color of Dialog: #FFFFFF

Inner Border Color Around Dialog :#FF9900 #FF9900 #FF9900 #FF9900

Outer Border Color Around Dialog:#FF9900 #FF9900 #FF9900 #FF9900

Border Color of Title Area:#0000CC

 

 

I can see color changed in Theme Editor but same not coming while logging in portal and checked.

 

Every thing is fine except Background Color of Title Area this color not applying .

i have deleted browser cookies and cache even restarted Server as well. But No luck.

i fond in IE developer tool these properties fetching from below .css file

http://test.com:53200/com.sap.portal.design.urdesigndata/themes/portal/customer/pg_supplier_new/ls/ls_sf3.css

 

Is it possible to modified directly this .css file  ?

How to change Portal logon page language to browser's language in EP 7.3?

Dear experts

 

I want to change the language of the logon page of our portal (EP 7.3) to be in the browser's language. Unfortunately I don't know how to change this. I guess it should be done by modifying the prtDefault.properties but I can't find it (no longer available in EP 7.3 I guess?).

 

Can anyone tell me how to make the language of the logon page dependent on the browser's language? In <server>:<port>/nwa/auth I can't find a setting for this...

Role issue in SAP 7.3 portal

Hi All,

 

I have a role with two worksets and each of the work set has one iview. I have not checked the entry point for role and checked the entry point for both worksets.The iviews are changed to open in a seperate window.

 

When user only has this role, it directly opens up the first iview assigned to this role in the portal content area and nothing shows up in the top level navigation (two worksets assigned to this role are expected to show up). When we assign another role to the user, then everything shows up as expected.

 

Please let me know if any of you had faced this kind of problem before/ knows how to resolve.

Transport iViews in SAP EP 7.31

We have migrated from SAP EP 6.40 to SAP EP 7.31 recently.

We have few custom applications which fetch data from a separate Oracle DB. Earlier (in the old portal) we used to create/update content of the iViews in development and then transport them via portal's inbuilt System Admin --> Transport tool.

 

The .epa file used to be exported from development and imported into acceptance and production, The content changes used to reflect then.

Post the upgrade the content changes doesn't reflect on import and I don't see any errors too.

 

Please suggest.

EA-HR_MSS       1.0        0006

 

 

For ESS MSS (WebDynpro ABAP),

 

1) Based on the system we have, What are all Portal business packages (list) should we deploy into Portal? any sequence to follow??

we have different verions of (BP ERP05 ESS, BP ERP05 COMMON PARTS & BP ERP05 MSS ), I am confused which version to download.

do I need mss add-on Portal business pack also??

 

 

2) Kindly provide me the path in SMP from where I have to download those??

there are different paths like (Portal content, Portal content NW 7.3 & Portal content self services 7.3).. From where I have to pick??

 

 

3) Any post-installtion activity after importing the business packgages in portal??? like JCO creations, system alies etc if any..

 

4) Request to share any document on ESS MSS Business package deployment into SAP NW 7.3...

I had configured SSO & created ECC system object & can run transaction iview from Portal.

Installed MSS add-on in ECC ystem

ESS Role authorization in Portal 7.4

Hi,

I am using portal 7.4 and ECC 6 EHP7 for ESS and MSS applications. Deployed ESS WDA Business package on portal system with common parts BP. when try to assign ess role to user1 getting portal runtime error. if super admin role is assigned to user1 then ESS role displaying proper view. I have given read access to user1 on ESS role even though it is not working. Please provide your suggestion to fix issue

Hi,

We are on NW 7.4 portal with EHP 7  . I have uploaded SAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_UI5_1 composite role in portal .On click of employee self service iview i get exception as  shown below. I have assigned end user role , group to end user and provided full control permission.Still i get exception as shown in screen shot below. In log it shows " Could not retrieve portal application X-SAP-UI2-PAGECHIP". Any inputs on what might be teh cause for the issue?
