Portal 7.3 and SAP Sourcing Portal integration

$

Hello all,

I have a unique scenario that requires some assistance.

I am working at a very secure site..

I am using SAP EP 7.3 as a consumer portal along with SAP Sourcing Portal. We have 2 portal systems, one for business users and one externally for customers.

Internally

I have created a URL iView to the sourcing portal to render sourcing portal content internally this works fine with no issue

Externally

I have created the same URL iView pointing to the Sourcing Portal but I am having significant issues

I am dealing with multiple firewalls so the URL request that’s being sent to the sourcing Portal from the EP is getting lost due to the loadbalancer and firewall not passing thru the proper URL

We can not get SSO to work externally either

My question is, is there another way to integrate the sourcing portal to the EP without using a URL iView?

I’ve mentioned application integration iViews but do not see that as a template.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hello everybody. I hope you feel fine !

<b>I'd like to know if it's possible to integrate KPRO documents (DMS) directly with the SAP Portal without using KM (and the DMS connector with KM) ?</b>

Linked with the first question, is KM mandatory for content management on SAP Portal ?

I hope you'll have some answers for me, I searched but didn't find anything.

Thank you very much !!

Transport iViews in SAP EP 7.31

We have migrated from SAP EP 6.40 to SAP EP 7.31 recently.

We have few custom applications which fetch data from a separate Oracle DB. Earlier (in the old portal) we used to create/update content of the iViews in development and then transport them via portal's inbuilt System Admin --> Transport tool.

The .epa file used to be exported from development and imported into acceptance and production, The content changes used to reflect then.

Post the upgrade the content changes doesn't reflect on import and I don't see any errors too.

Please suggest.

Regards, Biswajit.

Google Chrome: After WD Java app is loaded, it changes focus of page

Hello,

We have migrated PCD content and WD Java applications to NW CE7.3 Ehp1 SP5 Portal.

Since then, we are facing following issue: -

We have a page which contains two Web Dynpro applications. Each application is fetching data from a R/3 system via RFC calls.

While data is processed, a progress indicator is visible on the page. After the data is computed, it is displayed in the Web Dynpro Java application in a table.

With Google Chrome (on desktop), we have observed the following issue, right after the data is displayed as a table in the Web Dynpro application:

Right at the time data is displayed in the table, the browser focuses (jumps vertically) to the position of the Web Dynpro application.

This issue can be reproduced with a default page layout by SAP and is only observed in Chrome. (In Firefox and Internet Explorer, issue isn't present.)

Has anyone faced similar issue before?

Any ideas/comments for me that can help.

Thanks & Regards,

Amey Mogare

PS: we have raised OSS message to SAP for this and in one of the replies, SAP mentions to post/search this on SAP SCN. :-)

SAPUI5 lanes hanging after personalisation

$

Hi all

Calling all SAPUI5 experts out there.  We are in the process of setting up HR Renewal and have a peculiar situation with the lanes after personalisation.  I hope that you have seen something similar and you know of a magic switch which will get rid of this little niggle we are experiencing.

Here is a rundown of what we are experiencing with some screenshots attached.

SS1.png

When starting up the Employee Self-Service and Manager Self-Service applications the roles display all the lanes as expected.  These lanes are not personalised as standard and as a result there are no background images assigned to the role.

SS2.png

I then start by adding a background image to the role for my user.

SS3.png

I choose an image for ESS and close the theme chooser.  I log off the system and log back on to ensure my theme changes took effect without any adverse symptoms.

SS5.png

I choose the Toggle Settings button to personalise the landing page for my user.  This is where the bizarreness starts.  Even though I have lanes displayed for my user, none of them are selected on the lane selector tiles.

SS6.png

I delete all the lanes and re-add them replicating what an end user may do.  The lanes then display as expected.

SS7.png

I log off, make myself a coffee and log back on again.  The lanes just hang and none of the previously displaying information is shown anymore.

SS8.png

The only known way to get the lanes back is to reset the personalisation as seen above.

To investigate the issue, I logged into the backend and looked at the OData error logs and see a few errors containing the message "Resource Chip not found" and the application log has it's corresponding entry.  Google Chrome developer tools also display an error to this effect with a bit more detail seemingly pointing to the personalisation which isn't found.  Below is a copy of the Google Chrome message:

2014-09-26 12:41:58 [main.html] Error (404, Not Found) in OData response for GET "/sap/opu/odata/UI2/PAGE_BUILDER_PERS/Chips('X-SAP-UI2-PAGE%3AHREMPLOYEE%3A00O2TM3I4P3SJJNTS468SZQGY')?$expand=ChipBags/ChipProperties": HTTP request failed

Details: Resource Chip not found. - {"requestUri":"/sap/opu/odata/UI2/PAGE_BUILDER_PERS/Chips('X-SAP-UI2-PAGE%3AHREMPLOYEE%3A00O2TM3I4P3SJJNTS468SZQGY')?$expand=ChipBags/ChipProperties","statusCode":404,"statusText":"Not Found","headers":[],"body":"{\"error\":{\"code\":\"SY/530\",\"message\":{\"lang\":\"en\",\"value\":\"Resource Chip not found.\"},\"innererror\":{\"transactionid\":\"027245E4CB4BF1B993FE00163E000001\",\"timestamp\":\"20140926114110.6160000\",\"Error_Resolution\":{\"SAP_Transaction\":\"Run transaction /IWFND/ERROR_LOG on SAP NW Gateway hub system and search for entries with the timestamp above for more details\",\"SAP_Note\":\"See SAP Note 1797736 for error analysis (https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1797736)\"},\"errordetails\":[{\"code\":\"/IWBEP/CX_MGW_BUSI_EXCEPTION\",\"message\":\"Resource Chip not found.\",\"propertyref\":\"\",\"severity\":\"error\"}]}}}"} sap.ui2.srvc.ODataWrapper

It seems as if my personalisation isn't saved as the GET call on the OData service can't find any information.  My user has all the required authorisations (SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW, X_REST) and , so I don't understand why the personalisation would not have been saved.

I have seen similar issues for Fiori posts (Resource Chip not found) stating that the OData service has to be deleted and recreated, but I cannot see that the design would require this to happen every time a landing page is personalised.  I am fairly confident that we have missed something small and that there is someone out there who can provide some insight.

Our component level details are as follows:

SAP_ABA7408

Useful answers will be rewarded as always.

Existing Web Dynpro ABAP iView - changing ABAP system that it uses

I have an iView that is connecting to an incorrect ABAP system. This is based on the Portal logs that tell me it is failing to connect to system XYZ. I can't find a System Alias or JDBC connection for the XYZ system

As a shortcut to fixing the problem, I have looked at Editing the iView but there doesn't seem to be anything that that lets me change the remote system the iView is connecting to. How do I change the system alias or the connection an iView is using ?

thanks

How to modify enterprise portal response HTML sections and response headers

$
0
0

Hi,

In this blog you can find 2 topics:

  1. Adding response headers to the response coming back from EP server.
  2. Modifying the HTML head section (or any other section in html) of the HTML response coming back from EP server.

1. Adding HTTP Response headers in Enterprise Portal

What is an HTTP Header (wikipedia):

HTTP header fields are components of the header section of request and response messages in the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). They define the operating parameters of an HTTP transaction.

Sometimes there are cases where you would like to add headers to response. some example can be X-FRAME-OPTIONS for limiting framing or Cache-Control to control caching of the response, or  IE's X-UA-Compatible

Here is sample code of a portal component which adds adds an X-FRAME-OPTIONS response header to deny framing when called:

import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse;
import com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.AbstractPortalComponent;
import com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.IPortalComponentContext;
import com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.IPortalComponentProfile;
import com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.IPortalComponentRequest;
import com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.IPortalComponentResponse;
public class MyHeaderComponent extends AbstractPortalComponent
{    private static final String X_FRAME_OPTIONS = "X-Frame-Options"; //The response header key    private static final String DENY = "DENY";  //The response header value    public void doContent(IPortalComponentRequest request, IPortalComponentResponse response)    {            HttpServletResponse servletResponse = request.getServletResponse(false); //gets the original servlet response            if(servletResponse != null) {                     //adds the X-FRAME-OPTIONS Header                servletResponse.addHeader(X_FRAME_OPTIONS, DENY);                                    response.write("My Content cannot be displayed inside an iframe!!");            }   }
}

The actual magic is done in line 19.

The response of calling this portal component would be display just "My Content cannot be displayed in an iframe".

If you run it within IE inside an Iframe, you will get the following:

frame.jpg

Notice the response header that was added : "x-frame-options" .

2. Modifing the HTML head and html sections of EP response:

Simple structure of an HTML page.

As you know, when working with portal components, Portal Runtime builds and creates an html response that will return to client (after going over all hooks).

It is possible to add additional html code(or remove) to the head or body sections and to change attributes of these sections.

At first we need to have access to the portal HTMLDocument which will allow us access to the html document sections:

/** Getting the PRT HtmlDocument object from the PortalComponentRequest. */
private HtmlDocument getHtmlDocument(IPortalComponentRequest request) {     HtmlDocument htmlDocument = null;     IPortalResponse portalResponse = (IPortalResponse) request.getValue(IPortalResponse.class.getName());      if (portalResponse instanceof PortalHtmlResponse) {           PortalHtmlResponse portalHtmlResponse = (PortalHtmlResponse) portalResponse;           htmlDocument = portalHtmlResponse.getHtmlDocument();      }     return htmlDocument;  }

Then in our doContent of portal component we can just add scripts to the head and play with the body:

public void doContent(IPortalComponentRequest request, IPortalComponentResponse response)
{     HtmlDocument portalHtmlDoc = getHtmlDocument(request);     Vector headHtmlElements = portalHtmlDoc.getHead().getHtmlElements();     //writing head scripts and modifying body attribs     headHtmlElements.add( new HtmlString( "<!-- This will appear in the head! --> " ));     headHtmlElements.add( new HtmlString( "<script type=\"text/javascript\">alert('hello from header!') </script>" ));        //setting css class of body     portalHtmlDoc.getBody().setClass( "myCSSClass" );           //setting body attributs     portalHtmlDoc.getBody().addAttribute( "role", "application" );             response.write("inside body");
}

After we got the portal HTML Document, adding some html code inside the head section is done in line 7,8.

Setting class for the body section in line 11 and adding body attributes in line 14.

Finally we can still write inside the body in line 15.

Running this portal component will trigger our javascript alert and give us the following html output:

head.jpg

You can see a generic portal html response, but notice the additional changes we have added in our code:

  • 2 lines we wrote were added into the html head section (marked in read).
  • The body section now has role="application and class="myCSSClass" (marked in orange)

Inspect the getHead and getBody classes for more methods.

Try it out!

Best Regards,

Tal

Hi Experts

  While extracting a report content in a spreadhsheet using WD ABAP application using SAP GUI for html/ITS server , following message was observed by the user.

Frontend Service methods need ITS FrameSet

In order to fix the issue , we have tried to implement the note:

2017287 - SAP GUI for HTML: Error message "Frontend Service methods need ITS FrameSet"

The error message is now gone but the user is getting a new pop-up error message :The application was stopped due to critical rendering error:

The standards mode is not supported for document modes less than 8(Note 1970689).

We are using IE and the portal is using quirks mode.

The Browser Document Mode iView has a value : IE=EmulateIE9.

Please suggest to resolve.

JSPDynPage Test - Could not create a context for

$

Dear SAP,

apparently, similar questions have been exhaustively raised in this Forum, however, this is exactly what makes it confusing.

It must sound very simple, but so far, after some days of attempts, I could not make it work.

Please, can someone advise on how to test a JSPDynPage (or a simple JSP) in Portal?

After deployment, when trying to call it on http://<server:port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/myTestPage.jsp, I only get the error: "could not create a context for: myTestPage.jsp".

Here are the steps from creation to deployment:

- In NWDS create a new Portal Application Project

- In the Project, create a new Application Object of type JSPDynPage

- Write "Hello World" in the HTML body - fix all reported errors

- Save and Export the Project to an EAR file

- Deploy the EAR file to the Portal (successfully deployed).

Please, how to make the JSP work via URL and get the "Hello World" ?

Thank you very much.

iview launch in new window appears in bottom right of screen

We are using the appraisal document iview which links to a abap web dynpro program in the backend. We have set the iview property to launch in new window 'display in separate headerless portal window'. In some cases this is working in that it centralises the pop up window. For other users it appears in the bottom right of the screen.

We are using EP 7.02, IE 9 in a citrix environment.

Is there anything I can do to get the window to appear in the centre of screen all the time ?
